Mia holds a B.S. in Electronic Media Broadcasting from Appalachian State University and is passionate about building effective teams, and using creative design, video, and photography to create high growth products and communities.

She currently is a Producer at Spectrum News One in Raleigh, NC. Previously she served as the PR and Marketing specialist at Dig Local. She also previously served as an Associate Producer for 4 shows at AppTV, helped to create a diverse and well-trained staff, and spent a few years as a freelance creative.

Originally from Asheville, North Carolina she has spent time in Puerto Rico studying photography, building houses, and learning more about the rich culture she comes from. She loves books, yoga, and trail running.

Lead Producer 5p-4a Show | 2022 – Present

• Led content management for a team of over 50 reporters to create highly showcased news daily, covering the entire state of North Carolina during primetime coverage for a 24/7 news station. 
• Highlighted the most impactful and compelling aspects of each story to allow pieces to speak for themselves. 
• Organized and chose content that was most relevant for viewers across the state from hard news stories, sports stories to in-depth weather coverage.
• Led team of producers daily in show selection, rundown creation and overall storytelling choices 5 days a week for content airing every hour from 5p to 4a.

• Accepted and shared feedback in an encouraging way, incorporating teammates ideas into work for a better final product. 

• Led go-to social media strategy using analytical and creative insights, spearheading all newsletters to 50K+ subscribers and users.

Associate Producer | Buenos Dias Boone 2021-2022

• Partnered with the producer to develop strategic storytelling that mattered for the Latinx community in the High Country.
• Helped in direction and production during weekly show days to help with a smooth filming process.
• Served as co-founder in the creation of the first and only all Spanish news broadcast in Boone.
